FOUNDING & EARLY VISION
Skyview Networks was founded in 1996 by Ken Thiele (bio below) with a focused mission: to provide broadcast solutions for professional sports teams seeking greater control over their radio distribution. From the outset, the company positioned itself as a technology and revenue driving partner offering distribution services, proprietary software and advertising sales expertise designed to give rights holders more flexibility, efficiency and monetization power in managing their broadcasts.
At a time when the audio industry was still largely defined by traditional broadcast infrastructure, Skyview recognized an opportunity to build smarter systems that would serve the evolving needs of both content producers and advertisers. This founding philosophy that technology should empower broadcasters, not constrain them, and that every impression represents revenue potential, has remained central to the company’s identity.
GROWTH & EVOLUTION
Over the course of its first decade, Skyview steadily expanded its scope beyond sports distribution, developing proprietary systems that would come to define its competitive advantage. The company invested heavily in building a technology stack purpose-built for the audio industry, including tools for ad inventory management, network automation, ad insertion and satellite and IP distribution. Critically, Skyview paired this technology with a dedicated sales operation, establishing itself as a leader in monetizing audio inventory and driving revenue for the networks and advertisers it served.
This investment in both technology and sales proved transformative. As Skyview’s platform matured and its sales capabilities grew, the company began attracting partnerships with some of the biggest brands in media, establishing itself not just as a distributor, but as a comprehensive revenue partner capable of managing and monetizing every aspect of audio broadcasting at scale. What began as a specialized sports broadcast company had evolved into a true one-stop shop for the audio industry.

KEN THIELE | FOUNDER
Ken Thiele is the Founder of Skyview Networks, the broadcast audio company he built into one of the most respected names in network audio sales and syndication. With a career spanning decades in the broadcast industry, Ken established Skyview Networks on the principles of service excellence, client accountability and a deep respect for the professionals and audiences that make radio matter.
Under Thiele’s founding leadership, Skyview Networks grew to serve major media companies, top consumer brands, world-class entertainers and professional and collegiate sports organizations. His vision shaped not only a company, but a culture that continues to define how Skyview Networks operates today.
Thiele began in the radio industry in 1985, building his first venture, Skyview Traffic, from the ground up. This traffic-watch service expanded into several regional markets, making it a strong competitor in the radio space, and leading to its eventual acquisition by Metro Networks.
In 1995, Thiele was inspired again to create a new enterprise in the radio industry, merging his knowledge of radio and passion for sports into Skyview Networks. Recognizing the unaddressed unique needs specific to play-by-play sports broadcasting, he worked to establish the groundwork for Skyview’s systems, software and services that are in place today. These developments include satellite and terrestrial distribution, inventory management software, syndication and network sales.
Under Thiele’s leadership, Skyview partnered with a vast portfolio of networks and continues to stand out in the marketplace as a one-stop shop. Over the last ten years, the company leveraged its expertise to create successful partnerships with some of the most trusted brands in audio and publishing including The Associated Press, The Weather Channel, Local Radio Networks, Connoisseur Media, JackFM and Hubbard Radio Group. Additionally, Skyview has expanded its national syndication portfolio with multiple programs including The Dana Cortez Show, XYZ with Erik Zachary, Classic Rock U, Donna & Steve, Country Top 40 with Fitz, and B-Dub Radio.
With Thiele and his veteran team of executives, Skyview grew to a multi-million-dollar company. His dedication to innovation and customer service created a legacy that continues to deliver for clients and talent across America every day.
